Lovelace was privately educated by tutors and then herself. Mathematician-logician Augustus De Morgan, helped teach Ada in her advanced studies. The Ada Lovelace award is given in her honor and was founded in 1981.

Contributions to Computer Science:

Ada Lovelace is a major pioneer in computer science. Ada is known as the world’s first computer programmer. She found a love for language and numbers from a young age and at the age of 17 she met inventor Charles Babbage. They became good friends and Babbage introduced her to his Analytical Engine. The Analytical Engine could solve complex calculations. While translating his article about the Analytical Engine she created the first computer algorithm before the machine was even created.
